On this page we get our first look at the menacing Stillface, the most feared hood on the street.  I think there was a Golden Age “Still Face”, but I can’t seem to find him now.  In any case he bears little resemblance to his namesake here.  His costume has an antiquated, Victorian feels which I’m sure is meant to be ironic in some way as it clashes with the story’s time period which is…hey, when does this story take place?  I usually say, “about a hundred years ago.”  And even saying that doesn’t say much because it’s really suppose to be taking place in a futuristic city out of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, or maybe one of H.G. Wells’ books.  Jules Verne, too.  So really it’s a hundred years ago, in the future.
