We must afford a shout out to the omnipresent influence of Frank Frazetta & Emperor Palpatine!  Their contributions to the popular zeitgeist are on display here.  Speaking of zeitgeist, we must also make careful note of the appearance of disgruntled insurance sales man, George Tweedle, known to his victims as Arson Fiend.  I don’t image the 1941 Fawcett edition of Arson Fiend had any discernable ties to the Klan… but that’s not to say he didn’t.

I started working on these pages in October 2015.  By then the aftermath of Ferguson and the many incidents leading up to and following it were already a part of the contemporary cultural scenario.  It seemed like a natural addition to Mr. Tweedle’s character that he should also be a virulent racist.
